Public sector oil marketing companies have affirmed that the supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG across the state is stable, with adequate stocks available to meet demand.

At a coordination meeting held in Hyderabad, officials said the fuel distribution network is functioning smoothly and is being closely monitored to prevent disruptions. They reassured that there is no scarcity in any region and advised the public against unnecessary stocking.

Fuel consumption trends remain within normal limits. During the first 20 days of the month, petrol and diesel supplies recorded a modest 7% increase , indicating controlled demand without any abnormal surge.

LPG distribution has also remained consistent. By April 21, around 37.77 lakh domestic cylinders had been delivered across the state. Officials noted that booking levels have remained stable, reflecting confidence among consumers. Multiple booking options, including SMS, missed call, IVRS, and online platforms, are being promoted to ensure timely delivery.

To enhance transparency and curb diversion, an OTP-based ‘Delivery Authentication Code’ system is in place, ensuring cylinders reach the intended beneficiaries. Dedicated portals have also been introduced for commercial users to streamline their requirements.

Enforcement efforts have intensified against illegal storage and misuse, with 1,942 inspections conducted and 5,388 cylinders seized so far.

Meanwhile, the government is encouraging the adoption of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) as a safer and reliable alternative. The state currently has over 1.03 lakh PNG connections , with plans to expand coverage further and reduce dependence on LPG.

Special provisions have also been made for migrant workers and students without local address proof, allowing them to obtain 5-kg ‘Free Trade LPG’ cylinders using valid identification and self-declaration.

Officials reiterated that Telangana’s fuel supply system remains robust and is expected to continue without disruption in the coming days.
