No calculators in JEE-Main 2026 NTA
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a clarification confirming that the use of calculators will not be allowed in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) 2026. The clarification comes after confusion arose from a section in the official information bulletin stating that an “onscreen standard calculator” would be available during the Computer-Based Test (CBT).
According to NTA officials, the mention of the calculator feature was a typographical error that appeared due to a generic test platform template used in the bulletin. “The use of calculators in any form is strictly prohibited in JEE (Main). The onscreen calculator feature mentioned was part of a standard format and does not apply to this exam,” a senior NTA official clarified.
The agency has now uploaded the corrected version of the information bulletin on its website and advised candidates to download the revised document. “NTA regrets the typographical error and the inconvenience caused to candidates,” the statement said.
The first session of JEE-Main 2026 will be held from January 21 to 30, while the second session is scheduled from April 1 to 10, 2026.
