Nizamabad's Saanvi shines with Kuchipudi in Dubai

For many young people growing up abroad, staying connected to their roots can be challenging. But 15-year-old Saanvi Bangari, who hails from Nizamabad and now lives in Dubai, has found her way of keeping Indian culture alive - through the art of Kuchipudi dance.

Saanvi moved to Dubai with her parents, Swapna and Shanker, when she was just a baby. While Dubai is home to its own vibrant traditions and cultural practices, Saanvi chose to embrace and showcase her Indian heritage. Through her graceful Kuchipudi performances, she not only represents her Telugu roots but also adds to the cultural diversity of the UAE.

Kuchipudi is one of India’s eight classical dance forms, famous for its storytelling, expressive hand gestures, and rhythmic footwork. Saanvi has dedicated years to mastering this art, blending tradition with a touch of modern expression. Her performances carry the essence of the dance form while also connecting with audiences across borders.

In Dubai, she has performed at several cultural events, mesmerizing audiences with her elegance and passion. Her journey, however, extends beyond the Gulf. Saanvi has showcased her talent in India as well, performing at renowned venues such as Naadaneerajanam in Tirupati, Guruvayur in Kerala, Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu, and Shilparamam in Hyderabad. Each stage has been a new milestone in her artistic journey.

One of her most cherished memories was performing before His Highness Shaik Saud bin Saqr Al Qasmi, the ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. For Saanvi, moments like these are not just achievements but also opportunities to carry Indian culture to global audiences.
