
NIRDPR Announces Recruitment for 98 Capacity Building Consultant Posts
The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) has issued an official notification inviting online applications for the recruitment of 98 Senior Capacity Building Consultant and Capacity Building Consultant posts on a contractual basis. Eligible candidates with a Master’s degree in any discipline can apply through the official website career.nirdpr.in . The last date for submission of applications is January 29, 2026 .
As per Advertisement No. 37/2025 , the recruitment drive includes 10 posts of Senior Capacity Building Consultant and 88 posts of Capacity Building Consultant . The engagement will be purely contractual and does not confer any right to regular appointment at NIRDPR.
Candidates selected as Senior Capacity Building Consultants will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹75,000 , while Capacity Building Consultants will be paid ₹60,000 per month , in addition to travel and subsistence allowances during official tours, as per NIRDPR norms.
For the Senior Consultant post, applicants must possess at least nine years of combined experience at the district, state, or national level in areas such as Panchayat governance, rural development programme implementation, decentralised planning, and capacity building of Panchayati Raj institutions. For the Consultant post, a minimum of seven years of relevant experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in RGSA training programmes, localisation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), preparation of thematic GPDP, BPDP and DPDP plans, and training material development.
The upper age limit is 50 years , reckoned as on December 31, 2025 , with age relaxation applicable to SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates as per Government of India norms.
Category-wise and state-wise vacancies have been notified, covering districts across all States and Union Territories. Of the total vacancies, six posts under the Capacity Building Consultant category are reserved for Persons with Disabilities.
Applicants belonging to General, OBC and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹300 through SB Collect, while SC, ST and PwD candidates are exempted from the fee, subject to submission of valid certificates.
Selection will be carried out through a competitive process, and shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews. NIRDPR has clarified that possession of minimum qualifications alone does not guarantee shortlisting.
