Nine cheers for Netflix India at Asian awards 2025
Netflix India has bagged nine nominations at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) 2025, underlining its growing influence in the global entertainment space. Leading the pack is Black Warrant, which received five nominations, including Best Actor (Zahan Kapoor), Best Cinematography (Saumyananda Sahi), and Best Screenplay (Satyanshu Singh and Arkesh Ajay). Other notable nods include IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack for Best VFX and Modern Masters – SS Rajamouli for Best Documentary Programme (One-Off).
These nominations mark another milestone for Netflix India, which had also made waves at last year’s awards with shows like Amar Singh Chamkila and Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The nominees will compete in the Grand Awards in Singapore this December across the APAC region.
Tanya Bami, Series Head of Netflix India, called the nominations a testament to the creativity and dedication of both seasoned and emerging talent. Actor Zahan Kapoor described his role in Black Warrant as “profound and humbling,” while Sameer Nair, MD of Applause Entertainment, highlighted the show’s national success and its opportunity to represent India internationally.
With a diverse slate spanning documentaries, dramas, and high-end productions, Netflix India continues to demonstrate that local stories can resonate on a global stage.
