Doctors at the government-run Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) have achieved a remarkable milestone by successfully treating two young patients suffering from severe heart rhythm problems. Both patients had ventricular premature contractions (VPCs) that accounted for 40-50% of their heartbeats.

Using advanced 3D mapping technology, NIMS cardiologists performed radiofrequency ablation procedures, completely eliminating the abnormal heartbeats. Following the treatment, the patients have fully recovered and returned to normal life. Notably, these life-saving procedures were provided entirely free of cost under the state’s Aarogyasri health scheme.

Such high-end heart treatments typically cost lakhs of rupees in private hospitals, but at NIMS, patients from economically weaker sections and middle-income families receive top-quality care without any financial burden.

NIMS has gained special recognition as the only government hospital in the two Telugu states offering both Electrophysiology (EPS) studies and Radio Frequency ablation under the Aarogyasri program. With experienced cardiologists, state-of-the-art equipment, and government support, the hospital is emerging as a beacon of hope for heart patients. These successful procedures mark a significant milestone in public healthcare, demonstrating that cutting-edge medical treatment can be accessible to all, regardless of income.
