NIA Raids 10 Locations in J&K Over Pakistan-Linked Terror Conspiracy

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted searches at 10 locations across Jammu and Kashmir as part of its investigation into a cross-border terror conspiracy allegedly involving Pakistan-based handlers and a network of local Over Ground Workers (OGWs).

The searches were carried out in Srinagar, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama and Budgam to collect additional documentary, digital and material evidence and establish the alleged roles of individuals linked to the local support network, the NIA said in a statement.

The case was registered following the arrest of an alleged OGW linked to the proscribed terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) during a late-night naka operation on March 31, 2026. A hand grenade and live ammunition were reportedly recovered from his possession.

According to investigators, the subsequent probe led to the arrest of Pakistani terrorists allegedly connected with the conspiracy and helped identify members of the local network suspected of facilitating their activities.

The NIA said preliminary findings indicated alleged links between Pakistan-based handlers and local associates, who were reportedly being used for communication, logistical arrangements, movement and concealment of terrorists, shelter, reconnaissance and other forms of assistance.

Investigators are also examining the financial trail, communication channels, movements of accused persons and sources of arms and explosives to determine the full extent of the alleged network.

The agency said Saturday's searches form part of its continuing investigation into the broader conspiracy and the alleged mechanism used to support cross-border terrorism.

Further evidence recovered during the searches is being examined and corroborated with other material collected during the investigation, the NIA said.

The agency is continuing efforts to identify all individuals allegedly involved and establish their respective roles. Further legal action, including arrests or recoveries, may follow based on the outcome of the ongoing investigation, it added.
