New Twist in Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Did Siya Goyal Secretly Marry Alleged Lover Chetan Chaudhary?

Police investigating the murder of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal are now probing claims that prime accused Siya Goyal secretly married her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary nearly four months before the killing, despite being engaged to Agarwal since February. According to sources, the two reportedly solemnised their marriage while wedding preparations with Agarwal continued, concealing the union from both families.

The alleged marriage surfaced during police examination of the digital trail belonging to the accused, including WhatsApp chats, call records, location data and internet search history spanning the past six to seven months. Officials are also examining Chaudhary's bank transactions to determine whether any payments were made to bypass the mandatory public notice period required under the Special Marriage Act . Sources said Goyal and Chaudhary are believed to have registered their marriage roughly four months ago, though police have not officially confirmed the claim and continue verifying documents and other evidence.

Agarwal, a 25 year old realtor, died on June 18 after falling from a cliff at Lohagad Fort near Lonavala. Police allege he was murdered as part of a premeditated conspiracy and have arrested both Goyal and Chaudhary in connection with the case. Investigators claim an earlier attempt on Agarwal's life had been made on June 14 but failed before the fatal incident at the fort.

According to the investigation, Agarwal met Goyal through a family arranged match, and the couple got engaged earlier this year. Police allege Chaudhary followed the pair to Lohagad Fort on the day of the incident as part of the planned conspiracy. Investigators say the alleged plot intensified after Agarwal's family sought Goyal's documents to complete formalities for the couple's planned destination wedding in Udaipur .

During questioning, investigators claim Goyal admitted she did not want to marry Agarwal and conspired with Chaudhary because she feared cancelling the wedding would bring disrepute to her family. Police further allege the two searched Google and YouTube for different methods to kill Agarwal before deciding that pushing him off the fort would be the easiest option. Both Goyal and Chaudhary remain in judicial custody as the investigation continues, with police treating the alleged secret marriage as a potential key link in establishing motive and premeditation.
