New Leadership Takes Charge at Andhra Pradesh Child Rights Commission

Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights entered a new phase on Monday as Vetukuri AVS Suryanarayana Raju assumed charge as its Chairperson at a formal ceremony held in Amaravati.

Along with the Chairperson, six newly appointed members K.G. Venkata Padmalatha, Dr. Dhoni Srinivas Murthy, Undavalli Gandhi Babu, Challa Madhusudana Rao, Mandala Ganga Suryanarayana, and P. Naga Manasa were sworn in and officially took charge of their responsibilities . The new team was welcomed by Commission staff in a brief felicitation event.

Speaking to the media after assuming office, Suryanarayana Raju outlined a clear agenda focused on strengthening child protection mechanisms across the state. He said the Commission would adopt a structured and proactive approach to address issues affecting children and work towards positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leading state in safeguarding child rights .

He emphasized close coordination with district authorities to tackle challenges at the grassroots level and ensure timely intervention in cases involving children. The Commission, he added, is committed to building a safe and supportive environment for every child.

Calling for public participation, the Chairperson urged citizens to promptly report any instances of child rights violations . He assured that strict action would be taken against offences such as child trafficking , child labour, and abuse, reaffirming the Commission’s commitment to protecting the welfare and dignity of children across the state.
