Nepal Embassy Launches Tourism Outreach For Indian Content Creators To Promote Tourism
Nepal has launched a fresh tourism outreach campaign aimed at India’s booming creator economy, inviting vloggers, podcasters, influencers and digital storytellers to participate in a sponsored familiarisation trip across the Himalayan nation.
The initiative, announced by the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi , seeks to tap into the growing influence of social media creators to promote Nepal’s mountains, spiritual destinations, heritage sites, cuisine and adventure tourism among Indian travellers.
Under the programme, five Indian content creators will be selected to travel through Nepal and create digital content showcasing the country’s tourism offerings. The embassy said the campaign is designed to position Nepal as a “close, accessible and welcoming destination” for Indian tourists looking for leisure, pilgrimage, wellness, family holidays and adventure travel.
Beyond the original announcement, several reports highlighted additional details not widely covered earlier. Selected participants will also be expected to share practical travel information for Indian visitors , produce at least one testimonial encouraging tourism to Nepal, and generate content in formats including reels, podcasts, travel guides and short-form videos. The embassy and partner organisations may also repost selected creator content with due credit.
Applications are open to Indian nationals or India-based creators with active accounts on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and other platforms. Preference will be given to creators focused on travel, spirituality, culture, food and wellness content with strong audience engagement.
Applicants must submit social media metrics, samples of previous tourism-related work and a proposal explaining how they plan to promote Nepal to Indian audiences. Applications close on the May 30 deadline , while travel dates and itineraries will be announced later.
The campaign comes as Nepal intensifies efforts to attract Indian tourists through digital-first tourism marketing and cross-border travel initiatives. India has also recently launched Nepal-focused spiritual tourism train packages under the Bharat Gaurav scheme, reflecting growing tourism cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
