The alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak has intensified political and public outrage across the country, with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy demanding a transparent and time-bound investigation into the controversy. Calling the incident a serious blow to the credibility of India’s competitive examination system, the Chief Minister urged the Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to act swiftly and restore confidence among students.

Addressing the issue, Revanth Reddy said the leak had pushed lakhs of students and parents into uncertainty and emotional distress. Nearly 22.79 lakh aspirants appeared for the NEET examination conducted on May 3 across 551 cities in India and 14 overseas centres , making it one of the world’s largest entrance tests for medical admissions. However, allegations of question paper leakage and organised malpractice have now cast a shadow over the examination process.

The Chief Minister stressed that students who spent years preparing for the highly competitive test should not suffer because of systemic failures. He demanded that all those involved in the alleged racket, irrespective of their influence or official position, be identified and punished strictly. According to reports, investigative agencies suspect the involvement of organised networks and intermediaries who allegedly circulated leaked papers for huge sums of money.

Revanth Reddy also called for major reforms in the conduct of national examinations. He urged authorities to strengthen digital security systems , improve monitoring mechanisms and introduce advanced technological safeguards to prevent similar incidents in the future. He said repeated controversies surrounding competitive exams were weakening public trust in merit-based education and recruitment systems.

Launching a political attack, the Telangana Chief Minister accused both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi of failing to protect the integrity of examinations. He recalled that Telangana too witnessed several paper leak controversies during the previous BRS government and alleged that similar failures were now visible at the national level under the BJP-led Centre.

Assuring support to affected students and families, Revanth Reddy said competitive examinations should serve as pathways to opportunity, not become sources of stress and uncertainty. He urged the Centre to uncover the truth quickly and ensure that innocent students do not pay the price for administrative lapses.
