NCP (SP) Chief Sharad Pawar admitted to hospital for medical evaluation

Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief and veteran politician Sharad Pawar was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on Monday after experiencing cough, throat infection, and breathing difficulties.

The 85-year-old leader was brought from his residence in Baramati , accompanied by his daughter and Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule and her husband Sadanand Sule . Upon arrival, Pawar, who recently lost his nephew and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a tragic air crash on January 28, was immediately wheeled into the hospital for evaluation.

Ruby Hall Clinic’s chief cardiologist and managing trustee, Dr Parvez Grant , confirmed that a team of doctors would examine Pawar and determine the appropriate course of treatment.

Party sources noted that Pawar, an oral cancer survivor , was suffering from persistent coughing, throat infection, and chest congestion. Doctors are closely monitoring his condition and conducting necessary tests.

Sources from the NCP said Pawar’s condition is currently stable, and further updates will be provided once the medical evaluation is complete.

Despite his age and health challenges, Pawar continues to play a prominent role in Maharashtra and national politics.
