Nara Devansh - The fastest checkmate solver

Nara Devansh, the 10-year-old chess prodigy and son of Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh, has been honored with the World Book of Records award for becoming the Fastest Checkmate Solver, swiftly solving 175 of the most complex chess puzzles. Devansh received the prestigious 'Fastest Checkmate Solver-175 Puzzles' award at a ceremony held at Westminster Hall in London, attended by his father, Minister Nara Lokesh, among other dignitaries.

To achieve this remarkable feat, Devansh tackled 175 intricate checkmate puzzles from the renowned chess collection, “5334 Problems and Games” by Laszlo Polgar, during a checkmate marathon last year. These puzzles, known for their progressive difficulty, tested his speed, accuracy, and problem-solving prowess. Devansh set a world record by solving all of them in an exceptionally short time, earning recognition from the World Book of Records as one of the most outstanding young talents in the global chess community. His success is a testament to his unwavering dedication, supported by his mother, Nara Brahmani, his father, Nara Lokesh, and his coach, K. Rajasekhar Reddy.

Speaking at the event, Minister Nara Lokesh expressed his pride: “It is special for Devansh to receive this honor at Westminster Hall today. This success was possible due to his foresight, quick thinking, presence of mind under pressure, and complete dedication to the game at such a young age. Devansh, the grandson of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has previously set two other world records, showcasing his extraordinary talent. He holds records for solving the 7-disk Tower of Hanoi in just 1 minute and 43 seconds and for correctly setting up 32 pieces on nine chess boards in 5 minutes. These achievements further highlight his exceptional intellect and commitment to excellence.
