Nani’s 'The Paradise' is proving to be an unlikely box-office survivor. Despite mixed-to-negative word of mouth, the Srikanth Odela directorial is showing stronger ticket-booking momentum than the October 2 releases led by Fahadh Faasil, Keerthy Suresh and Sundeep Kishan.

The film, which registered Nani’s biggest opening and crossed Rs 150 crore worldwide in its first week, has now found another reason to stay in the box-office conversation. 'The Paradise' has reportedly reached breakeven in the Nizam region, including GST, although its performance in several other territories remains challenging.

The latest BookMyShow trend makes the comparison even more interesting. On its second Saturday, which marked Day 10, 'The Paradise' recorded around 27K ticket sales. That is significantly higher than Fahadh Faasil’s 'Don’t Trouble The Trouble', which sold 14.52K tickets on Day 2.

Sundeep Kishan’s 'Sigma' opened with around 54K BookMyShow ticket sales but dropped to 25.19K on Day 2. 'Thella Kaagitham' recorded 22.62K sales on its second day, while Keerthy Suresh’s 'Dorothy' has yet to show a major booking surge. The trend puts 'The Paradise' ahead of all the October 2 releases in this particular ticket-sales metric.

The film’s journey has been unusual from the beginning. It opened strongly despite criticism, with reports putting its first-week worldwide gross above Rs 150 crore. However, collections slowed after the opening weekend, particularly in Andhra Pradesh.

Nani himself acknowledged the criticism and said he had learnt from the flaws pointed out by critics and reviewers. The film also saw its BookMyShow ratings and reviews disabled amid the controversy over audience reactions.

Now, the second weekend could determine whether 'The Paradise' turns its surprising booking momentum into a genuinely successful theatrical run.
