Nani’s The Paradise Builds Buzz With Emotional Mother-Son Story

Nani’s upcoming action drama The Paradise is gathering momentum ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on September 24, with the film’s emotional core, intense action and strong musical response adding to the pre-release buzz.

Directed by Srikanth Odela, the film reunites Nani with the filmmaker after their successful collaboration on Dasara. Set in 1980s Secunderabad, The Paradise follows Jadal, played by Nani, against the backdrop of a marginalised community and a violent social environment. While the film promises large-scale action, Odela and Nani have repeatedly highlighted the mother-son relationship at its heart.

Nani plays Jadal in a radically different physical avatar, sporting long braids and a muscular appearance. The actor has described the project as one of the most physically and mentally demanding films of his career. Stunt choreographers Ram-Lakshman have also spoken about Nani repeatedly asking for additional takes during action sequences.

The cast includes Kayadu Lohar, Mohan Babu, Sonali Kulkarni and Raghav Juyal, with Juyal making his Telugu debut in a negative role. Odela recently revealed that he spent nearly eight months searching for the right actor for the character before casting Juyal.

The promotional campaign received a major boost from the folk song “Yeshanagula”, which crossed 100 million views in 17 days, with reports describing it as the fastest Telugu track to reach the milestone.

The makers have taken an unusual promotional route by deciding not to release a trailer before the film reaches theatres. Nani said the team felt the movie itself should remain the main experience for audiences. The reported runtime is around 2 hours and 49 minutes.

Overseas interest has also been visible, with North American premiere bookings crossing $100,000 within hours of opening, although the exact advance figure has continued to change as more theatres opened bookings.

With the September 24 release approaching, The Paradise is now entering its final promotional phase, combining Nani’s transformed screen image, Odela’s action-driven storytelling and a strong emotional mother-son thread.
