Nagpur Hosts 69th All India Police Duty Meet with Focus on Modern Policing Skills

Nagpur is set to host the 69th All India Police Duty Meet (AIPDM) 2025–26 from March 29 to April 3 , bringing together police forces from across India in a major initiative aimed at strengthening professional skills , investigative capabilities , and inter-state coordination. The event, organised by the Maharashtra Police and CID, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and conclude in the presence of Nityanand Rai , Union Minister of State for Home Affairs. A total of 29 teams from states, Union Territories, and central police organisations will participate, with over 900 personnel and more than 150 dog squads competing across multiple venues including the Police Training Centre, SRPF grounds, and Shivaji Stadium.

The meet is a skill-based platform focused on operational-level personnel such as Sub-Inspectors, Inspectors, forensic experts, cyber teams, and dog handlers, rather than a ceremonial gathering. It features specialised competitions in Scientific Aids to Investigation , Dog Squad Operations , Computer Awareness , Anti-Sabotage Checks , and documentation through photography and videography. These events simulate real-life scenarios, helping participants sharpen their abilities in forensic investigation , cybercrime handling , explosive detection , surveillance, and evidence presentation, reflecting the shift toward technology-driven policing .

Police teams from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are expected to participate actively, with both states known for investments in forensic science , cybercrime units, and advanced training systems. Telangana, in particular, has demonstrated strength in technical and canine-based policing, while Andhra Pradesh emphasises tactical readiness and coordination. The meet comes at a time when policing in India is evolving rapidly due to rising digital crimes, greater reliance on forensic evidence, and emerging security threats. By combining competition with practical training, the AIPDM serves as a national platform to standardise best practices and prepare forces for modern challenges, reinforcing the country’s push toward a more efficient and future-ready policing system.
