Jana Sena Party leader and MLC Naga Babu is set to take oath as the Executive Committee Chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh Society for Greening and Reforestation for Ecological Enrichment (AP Green) on August 28.

Naga Babu said the swearing-in ceremony would be kept simple and low-key, as Jana Sena Party president and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan would not be available to attend. The event will be limited to family members, close associates and a few well-wishers.

He appealed to Jana Sena leaders, workers, supporters and well-wishers not to make special arrangements to attend the ceremony or face inconvenience. Naga Babu said he would personally meet those wishing to congratulate him in the coming days.

Expressing gratitude for the confidence placed in him, he said the love, affection and blessings of the people and party supporters had always been a source of strength. He also thanked everyone involved in entrusting him with the responsibility of heading the AP Green executive committee.

Meanwhile, the Jana Sena Party will conduct an interaction meeting at Mangalagiri at 4 pm on August 28 to discuss preparations for the upcoming local body elections.

The meeting will bring together state ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs, besides chairpersons of various corporations. Leaders who contested the 2019 Assembly elections on the Jana Sena ticket and those who contested the 2021 local body elections as corporators, councillors, ZPTC and MPTC candidates will also participate.

The party has specifically involved leaders who contested local elections during the previous government despite facing political pressure and several hurdles.

Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee chairman and Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar is expected to explain the directions and suggestions issued by Pawan Kalyan and outline the party's strategy for strengthening its organisation at the grassroots level.

A separate 14-member committee constituted to formulate the party's guidelines for local body elections will also meet on August 28.

Discussions will focus on preparing the party cadre for the polls, strengthening the organisation at the local level and finalising the framework for coordinated election preparations. The series of meetings is expected to provide further direction to Jana Sena leaders as the party gears up for the upcoming local body elections.
