Mystery Deaths: Four Monkeys Die Along Roadside in Kamareddy

In yet another disturbing incident of animal cruelty in Telangana , the suspicious deaths of four monkeys have triggered outrage in Kamareddy district . Even before public anger subsided over the recent killing of stray dogs in Machareddy , a fresh incident was reported from Antampalli village in Bichkunda mandal , sending shockwaves among residents and animal welfare activists .

According to preliminary information, unidentified persons allegedly captured a group of monkeys and abandoned them on a roadside , leading to their deaths. The incident came to light on Thursday , following which police launched a preliminary inquiry . Officials, however, stated that no evidence of poisoning has been found so far , and no case has been registered yet.

Police and Forest Department officials suspect that the monkeys were brought from another area and released late on Wednesday night . Local villagers alerted authorities after spotting four to five monkeys lying dead near the national highway on the outskirts of the village.

Forest officials rushed to the spot and conducted an inspection , while veterinary doctors provided emergency treatment . Two monkeys found in critical condition were successfully revived and later escaped into a nearby forest area after treatment , officials said.

Authorities stated that the exact cause of death remains unclear and that a detailed investigation is underway . The Forest Department and police are jointly preparing a comprehensive report on the incident.

‘Bloodshed’ in Village Governance

Following the recent panchayat elections in Telangana , new village bodies have assumed charge. Animal lovers have expressed anger over the police’s preliminary conclusion ruling out poisoning , despite animals being found dead along roadsides. They question why panchayat funds are not allocated for animal welfare and scientific management . Activists warn that power should be used to protect life, not destroy it , urging newly elected sarpanches not to sacrifice humanity for votes .

Environmentalists caution that disturbing ecological balance will ultimately harm humans , calling on the government to issue strict guidelines immediately . Failure to act, they warn, could turn villages into graveyards for voiceless animals .
