Political tensions have escalated in Telangana as campaigning for the municipal elections gathers pace. BRS leader Ravula Sridhar Reddy strongly criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging that the CM’s recent remarks stem from frustration over growing public discontent towards the Congress.

Ravula Sridhar Reddy claimed that Congress leaders are facing resistance from voters across municipalities, prompting the Chief Minister to make aggressive statements. He alleged that the Congress leadership is aware that the party may fall short of expectations in the upcoming polls and is therefore reacting in disappointment.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Ravula said public opposition to Congress ministers and leaders has become evident during election campaigning. He alleged that the Chief Minister has lost political balance after witnessing the negative public response, and that fear of unfavourable election results is driving such remarks.

Meanwhile, a day earlier, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had launched a sharp attack on the BJP, accusing it of exploiting religious sentiments for political benefit. He alleged that BJP leaders frequently target AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi and use him as a political instrument.

As the municipal elections draw closer, verbal sparring among the Congress, BRS and BJP has intensified. The escalating political rhetoric underscores the high stakes of the campaign, with its impact on the election outcome yet to be seen.
