Mumbai to Host Indian Open 2026 Squash as Anahat Singh Eyes Title Defence

Mumbai will witness the Indian Open 2026 squash tournament from March 18 to 22 at the CCI Brabourne Stadium . Teenage prodigy Anahat Singh will aim to defend her crown after winning the inaugural edition last year by defeating Helen Tang of Hong Kong China in the final.

The 17-year-old entered the tournament full of confidence, having clinched her maiden PSA Bronze-level title in February at the Squash On Fire Open in Washington. A victory over reigning Commonwealth Games champion Georgina Kennedy there also saw Anahat break into the top 20 of the PSA women’s rankings , becoming the youngest Asian player to achieve this feat. She will be the top seed in the women’s draw this year.

Other Indian women’s players in the 22-member field include veteran Joshna Chinappa (5th seed) , Tanvi Khanna (9th seed) , Rathika Seelan , and Shameena Riaz .

In the men’s draw, Asian Games medallist Abhay Singh will seek to improve on his runner-up finish last year, when he lost to Egypt’s Kareem El Torkey . Abhay is seeded second behind fellow Egyptian Yahya Elnawasany . Other top seeds in the 24-player men’s field include Ramit Tandon (3rd) , Veer Chotrani (4th) , and Velavan Senthilkumar (5th) .

A full-glass outdoor court will be set up for the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals , giving fans a spectacular view. Squash is also set to make its Olympic debut at LA 2028 , adding further excitement.

Live streaming of the Indian Open 2026 will be available on the Fancode app and website in India from the quarter-finals onwards , with no TV broadcast scheduled.
