Mumbai-Pune Expressway To Face Temporary Traffic Block On April 23–24 For Bridge Maintenance Work

Traffic on the Mumbai-Pune Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway will be temporarily halted and diverted for a few hours on April 23 and 24 to facilitate scheduled maintenance work on a bridge, officials said.

The restriction has been announced by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) for essential bridge maintenance work , including removal of shuttering and repainting of a structure located near the Dongargaon-Kusgaon stretch (around km 58/500) on the expressway.

According to MSRDC, the traffic block will be implemented between 12 pm and 3 pm on both days in a phased manner to ensure safety during the operation.

On April 23, all Mumbai-bound traffic will remain fully closed during the three-hour window. Vehicles will be diverted via the Kiwale-Dehu Road-Talegaon route and redirected onto National Highway 48 , before rejoining the expressway at the Kusgaon toll plaza.

On April 24, the closure will apply to Pune-bound traffic during the same time period. Vehicles will be diverted from the Kusgaon toll plaza through NH-48 via the Dehu Road–Kiwale corridor before re-entering the expressway.

Authorities have also emphasized that the closure is necessary due to ongoing structural work near a key bridge section and that traffic movement will be restored immediately after completion of daily work.
