A fire broke out on Monday afternoon at Bhatia Hospital in Mumbai’s Grant Road area, prompting the temporary evacuation of around 250 people, including patients, doctors, and staff, officials said.

The blaze, which began at 1:35 pm in the hospital’s CT-MRI scan unit, was confined to electrical wiring and installations, according to the Mumbai Fire Brigade. No injuries were reported, and all patients remained safe throughout the incident.

Authorities said the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. As a safety precaution, patients and staff were quickly moved out of the affected area. Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control, and the fire was fully extinguished by 3 pm.

Hospital operations were temporarily disrupted, but normal services are expected to resume soon. The incident highlights the importance of regular safety checks in medical facilities.
