A Sub-Inspector (SI) and a constable from Siddipet district landed in trouble after being caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while taking a ₹50,000 bribe. The accused - Vijay Kumar, an SI of Mulugu Police Station under Siddipet Commissionerate, and constable-driver Raju - were allegedly caught in the act on November 11.

According to ACB officials, the SI had demanded money from a complainant in return for helping resolve a property-related dispute involving the complainant’s elder sister. Acting on a complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and caught the constable while he was collecting the bribe on behalf of the SI within the police station premises.

The bribe amount was seized from the constable, and both officers were taken into custody. The ACB stated that the duo had misused their official positions for personal gain instead of performing their public duties honestly. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway.
