MP’s Shivpuri sets national record with largest single-location medical camp
A week-long multi-specialty medical camp in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh , has been recognised by the India Book of Records as the largest free multi-specialty medical camp held at a single location , officials said.
Held from March 17 to 24 , the camp was organised under the guidance of Union minister and Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia . It was jointly conducted by the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Health Service Mission, Rotary Regional Medical Mission, and the Madhya Pradesh government.
According to organisers, the initiative provided free, comprehensive healthcare services to thousands of patients , many of whom came from rural and remote areas with limited access to advanced medical facilities. Specialist doctors from across the country participated in the camp, offering consultations across multiple disciplines.
The services ranged from diagnosis and treatment of eye, dental, and orthopaedic conditions to advanced medical consultations , supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. Notably, the camp also facilitated high-tech robotic surgeries, a rare offering in such outreach programmes, ensuring patients received timely and quality treatment without cost.
In a statement, Scindia said the record was “not just an event, but a symbol of collective service, excellent management, and commitment to public welfare .” He added that the large-scale initiative directly benefited thousands of families and strengthened access to healthcare in underserved regions.
Officials noted that the camp’s scale, coordination, and range of services set a benchmark for public health outreach initiatives in India, demonstrating how collaborative efforts can bridge critical gaps in healthcare delivery.
