MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu Presents Palnadu Growth Report to PM Modi

Narasaraopet MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu on Monday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and presented a report chronicling Palnadu's financial transformation, outlining the district's progress in financial inclusion, institutional lending and economic development.

Titled "Palnadu: A Chronicle of Financial Transformation," the report highlights the district's efforts to expand access to formal banking services and institutional credit, particularly for farmers, women, youth and economically weaker sections. It showcases how increased financial inclusion has helped drive entrepreneurship, strengthen rural livelihoods and support sustainable economic growth.

During the meeting, Sri Krishna Devarayalu informed the Prime Minister that 1,03,246 beneficiaries in the constituency have received institutional loans worth ₹3,216 crore. Of them, more than 70,000 were first-time borrowers, marking a significant shift from informal credit channels to the formal banking system. He said the expansion of institutional lending has enabled thousands of individuals to invest in agriculture, micro-enterprises and self-employment, contributing to the region's economic progress.

The MP also briefed the Prime Minister on Palnadu's agricultural and industrial potential, noting that the district is emerging as a promising destination for investment and enterprise. He said the long-term vision is to develop Palnadu into a model of inclusive economic growth aligned with the national goal of Viksit Bharat, with a focus on improving livelihoods through stronger financial and infrastructure support.

Seeking greater assistance from the Centre, Sri Krishna Devarayalu urged the Prime Minister to ensure the timely completion of major irrigation projects that are crucial for Andhra Pradesh's agricultural sector. He said improved irrigation infrastructure would enhance water security, increase farm productivity and provide long-term benefits to farmers across the state.

Expressing gratitude after the meeting, the MP thanked Prime Minister Modi for his encouragement and guidance towards the development of Palnadu and Andhra Pradesh. He said continued support from the Central Government would play a key role in accelerating infrastructure development, expanding financial inclusion and achieving sustainable economic growth in the region.
