MP Arvind Counters TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud’s Criticism
MP Dharmapuri Arvind strongly responded to TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud ’s remarks questioning the development work carried out in the Nizamabad parliamentary constituency over the past seven years. Arvind presented a detailed account of projects undertaken on Indurugadda, addressing the TPCC chief point by point through a video.
Arvind highlighted that he had successfully secured the National Turmeric Board for Nizamabad farmers through the central government , fulfilling a decades-old aspiration. “This has led to increased turmeric prices and benefitted the farmers,” he noted. He also detailed plans to ease traffic congestion in Indur city, including the construction of ROBs in seven locations such as Madhav Nagar, Mamidipalli, and Arsapalli, which are reshaping the city’s infrastructure.
He added that modernization work at Nizamabad Railway Station is ongoing with an expenditure of ₹53 crore. The central government has approved a doubling project between Mudkhed and Dhone stations, as well as a new railway line connecting Patan Cheru and Adilabad. Green signals have been received for the four-lane expansion of roads connecting Armur, Jagityal, and Mancherial. New national highways are being constructed via Bodhan, Basar, and Bhainsa, along with road widening on Bodhan–Nizamabad and Nizamabad–Armur routes.
Through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and CRF schemes , 26 roads have been completed. In education, three central universities and two Navodaya Vidyalayas have been established, providing improved opportunities for students. Additionally, three new post offices were set up, and more than 28,000 Bidi workers’ records were updated through Aadhaar centres in PF offices.
Arvind also mentioned the ‘Arvind for Us’ helpline , which facilitated the repatriation of 141 deceased individuals from Gulf countries and assisted 508 Indians facing hardships in returning home. Parliamentary interventions under Operation Malaysia and Operation Myanmar have helped thousands of Indians return to the country.
He emphasized that development has also been achieved through infrastructure projects, employment initiatives, Mudra loans for youth, and other skill-building programmes. Looking ahead, new trains will be introduced on the Nizamabad route via Vande Bharat services, pending completion of the Mudkhed–Dhone doubling project, along with the establishment of Armur–Adilabad and Bodhan–Bidar railway lines. Arvind urged that critics first understand the facts before commenting on Nizamabad’s development.
Responding to Arvind, TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud told the media that Nizamabad, described as an “Amrit City,” has seen no development under the MP. He accused Arvind of spreading communal rhetoric during elections. Mahesh Kumar Goud also questioned why Arvind remained silent when the central government stalled the BC Bill. He further noted that the Congress has yet to announce its mayoral candidate.
