Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub Says His Voice Was “Misused” in ‘Chauhaan’, Clarifies He Is Not Part of Film

Actor Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub on Wednesday clarified that he is not associated with Ajay Devgn-starrer “Chauhaan” in any capacity and alleged that his voice was “misused” in the film’s teaser.

Ayyub said he had dubbed a single line for the project months ago, but it was recorded without any context or reference. He explained that he agreed to lend his voice in good faith as he had previously worked with the makers.

In a post on X, the actor wrote that a teaser had recently been released featuring his voice in the opening line, but he wanted to make it clear that he was not part of the film. He said he had no knowledge of how his voice would be used when he recorded the line.

The actor added that after watching the teaser and understanding the context in which his voice appeared, he immediately raised an objection with the filmmakers and requested its removal. According to Ayyub, the makers removed his voice from the teaser around 15 days ago following his complaint.

Although he did not mention the film’s production house directly, his comments were linked to Colour Yellow Productions, with whom he has previously collaborated on films such as “Raanjhanaa” and “Tanu Weds Manu Returns.”

The teaser of “Chauhaan” has faced criticism online over its portrayal of the Kashmir unrest and its depiction of the use of pellet guns. Ayyub stressed that he would “never be a part” of projects that do not align with his position as an artist.

The actor also shifted focus to the ongoing student protests across the country, praising young protesters for their determination and concluding his message with “JAI HIND, JAI SAMVIDHAN.”
