Mohan Babu’s Visit to Rajinikanth During ‘Jailer’ 2 Shoot Goes Viral

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film, Jailer 2, is generating considerable buzz both at the box office and on social media. A photograph featuring veteran actor Mohan Babu with Rajinikanth and several prominent stars has gone viral, drawing attention to the film’s star-studded cast.

Mohan Babu, a longtime friend of Rajinikanth, reportedly visited the superstar during the climax shoot of Jailer 2. During a break in filming, he spent time chatting with Rajinikanth and other actors, including Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, SJ Suryah and Jackie Shroff. The photograph capturing their interaction has since circulated widely on social media, attracting interest from fans of the actors.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel features several well-known performers, with Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff appearing in special cameos. The film was released in theatres on October 15, 2026, and has reportedly delivered a strong opening weekend.

According to box-office estimates reported by India Today, Jailer 2 collected approximately Rs. 424.25 crore worldwide in its first four days, including around Rs. 234.25 crore from the domestic market and Rs. 190 crore from overseas territories. Its domestic net collection was estimated at Rs. 199.90 crore.

The film reportedly earned Rs. 55.85 crore in India net on Sunday, October 18, up approximately 18.2 per cent from Saturday’s Rs. 47.25 crore. Its overseas performance has also drawn attention, with reports highlighting its strong opening-day collections compared with other Indian releases this year.

Produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The combination of its box-office performance, ensemble cast and the viral photograph has kept the film in the spotlight.
