Mohammed Siraj Named Hyderabad Captain For First Two Ranji Trophy Games

India pacer Mohammed Siraj will lead Hyderabad in their first two matches of the upcoming Ranji Trophy season, with C V Milind appointed as his deputy, the Hyderabad Cricket Association announced.

Siraj, one of India's leading fast bowlers across formats, will take charge of the Hyderabad side at the start of the domestic first-class campaign. His leadership and international experience will add considerable weight to a squad that also features several established domestic players.

C V Milind has been named vice-captain, while experienced batter Tanmay Agarwal is among the key names in the 15-member squad. Rahul Singh is another senior batter included in the team.

The squad has two wicketkeeping options in Rahul Radesh and Sai Pragnay Reddy. Tanay Thyagarajan, Aniketh Reddy and Ajay Dev Goud are among the other players selected for the opening phase of the campaign.

Hyderabad's 15-member squad is: Mohammed Siraj (captain), C V Milind (vice-captain), Tanmay Agarwal, M Abhirath Reddy, Rahul Singh, K Hima Teja, Rahul Radesh (wicketkeeper), Sai Pragnay Reddy (wicketkeeper), Varun Goud, Tanay Thyagarajan, Aniketh Reddy, Cht Rakshann Readdi, Ajay Dev Goud, Ruthik Yadav Mende and Sai Vikas Reddy.

The association has also named a seven-member standby list comprising Bhavesh Seth, H K Simha, T Ravi Teja, Shaunak Kulkarni, Mudassar Hussain, Kartikeya Kak and A Pruthvi Reddy.

Siraj's availability gives Hyderabad an experienced international campaigner to lead the side at the beginning of the Ranji Trophy season. His involvement could also provide valuable exposure to the younger members of the squad as Hyderabad begin their domestic first-class campaign.
