MLC Anji Reddy Demands Immediate Launch Of 200-Bed Hospital In Patancheru

MLC Dr Chinnamail Anji Reddy on Saturday conducted a surprise inspection of the government hospital in Patancheru of Sangareddy district and reviewed the medical services being provided to patients.

During the visit, he interacted directly with patients undergoing treatment at the hospital and gathered feedback on the availability of healthcare facilities and services. He instructed officials to pay greater attention to hospital administration to ensure better treatment for the public.

Speaking to the media later, Anji Reddy recalled that the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad had sanctioned Rs 184 crore through GO No. 82 dated July 16, 2022 for the construction of a 200-bed super speciality hospital in Patancheru. He expressed strong displeasure that the hospital has still not been made operational despite the completion of the building nearly a year ago and its handover to the Health Department months earlier.

The MLC said the hospital was crucial for people in the Patancheru industrial belt, where residents frequently face health problems linked to industrial pollution. He alleged that official negligence was denying poor patients access to quality government healthcare.

Anji Reddy also questioned how the hospital remained unopened even though the Health Minister himself belongs to Sangareddy district. He said suspicions were being raised among the public that the delay was benefiting private hospitals.

Highlighting the shortage of doctors and medical staff at the facility, he demanded immediate recruitment and deployment of personnel so the hospital could be opened for public use without further delay.

Warning of intensified protests, the MLC said that if the hospital is not inaugurated within the next 15 days , they would lay siege to the DMHO office .
