MLA Kaushik Reddy Urges Govt To Scrap Huzurabad Dumping Yard Plan
BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy has urged the government to immediately revoke the decision to set up a dumping yard in the Huzurabad constituency, warning that it could pose serious risks to public health and the environment .
He submitted a representation to state Cabinet members , raising concerns over the proposed project. He also lodged complaints on the issue with Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao , Duddilla Sridhar Babu , Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy , and MLA Adluri Laxman .
Expressing strong concern, the MLA said the dumping yard is not merely a waste storage site but an issue that would have a direct impact on the health, environment, and living standards of local residents. He noted that storing waste near villages and towns could lead to the spread of foul odour and increased air and soil pollution.
He further warned that there is a risk of groundwater contamination , which could lead to drinking water problems. Dumping yards may also result in a rise in mosquitoes and flies , increasing the likelihood of various diseases. He expressed particular concern about the impact on children, the elderly, and pregnant women.
The MLA added that the establishment of the dumping yard could lead to a decline in living standards in nearby areas and a drop in land values . Reflecting public sentiment, he demanded that the project be cancelled immediately and urged the government to reconsider the decision in the interest of the health and future of Huzurabad residents.
