Reinforcing efforts to boost women’s economic independence , Galla Madhavi on Tuesday provided financial and livelihood assistance to several underprivileged women in the Guntur West constituency .

The MLA participated in a special women’s grievance redressal programme held at the TDP constituency office, where she distributed pushcarts to three economically weak women who had recently sought support to start their own livelihoods. The beneficiaries will use the carts for small-scale businesses such as tiffin services, vegetable vending, and flower sales.

Speaking on the occasion, Madhavi said the weekly grievance initiative is being conducted every Tuesday to directly engage with women and resolve their issues promptly. She added that petitions received from the public are being taken up on priority in coordination with relevant officials, and noted that nearly 80 per cent of the grievances raised so far have already been resolved.

A large number of women attended the programme this week and submitted various requests related to welfare support and financial assistance. Several applicants sought widow pensions, kidney pensions, pending scholarship amounts, and medical aid. Residents of Sampath Nagar also raised concerns over a hazardous electricity line running dangerously close to residential houses.

In another significant issue, women from Seethamma Colony in the 28th Division complained that some youths were allegedly consuming ganja and engaging in anti-social activities near a local water plant. Taking serious note of the complaint, the MLA directed police officials to intensify patrolling in the area and take strict action against those involved.
