MLA Chinta Prabhakar Slams Congress for Misleading Poor Over Housing Plots Ahead of Municipal Elections

Sangareddy MLA Chinta Prabhakar strongly criticized Congress leaders for allegedly misleading the poor in Siddapur, Sadashivpet mandal, by claiming they would provide housing plots. He called this publicity a blatant deception aimed at luring voters ahead of municipal elections .

Speaking on the issue, the MLA pointed out that during a recent meeting in Sadashivpet, revenue officials were addressed disrespectfully , raising doubts about whether Congress workers were influencing them. He demanded that employee unions respond to this incident. He also highlighted that land issues have remained unresolved for many years. Even for the plot certificates issued in 2012–2013 , officials failed to provide proper addresses by 2014, leading to their cancellation despite the then-government being in power. Later, the BRS government allocated these lands for projects like the Urdu Residential School, Children’s Park, Indoor Stadium, and Swimming Pools .

Prabhakar emphasized that those who lost land received compensation through land acquisition cheques . He noted that 2BHK houses were provided in Aliabad village, Kondapur mandal, but allocating the lands to industries instead would amount to cheating the poor . He stated that the current government cannot distribute housing plots directly, but with sincere efforts , collectors and RDOs should provide plots to genuinely eligible poor families. He recalled that between 1995–2000 , while serving as municipal chairman, he distributed plots to 830 poor families, who have since built houses and are living happily.

He condemned the Congress for making empty promises during assembly elections and attempting to mislead the poor again in municipal elections, calling it negligence and unethical politics . Prabhakar asserted that in the upcoming municipal elections, people would vote for the BRS party and should not trust Congress promises. On behalf of BRS, he demanded the creation of a special cell in the collectorate to distribute plots to eligible poor families.
