Misuse of authority on wheels - Telangana targets illegal vehicle markings

The Telangana School Education Department, in partnership with the Komati Reddy Prateek Foundation, has unveiled a modern ₹8 crore school building in Bottuguda, Nalgonda district. Officially named "Komati Reddy Prateek Government Primary and High School," this state-of-the-art facility replaces the dilapidated former government school, promising a transformative educational experience for underprivileged students. The inauguration, expected to be led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is slated for the near future, with details to be announced soon.

The announcement came via the Information and Public Relations Department of Telangana (@IPRTelangana) on X earlier today, accompanied by images showcasing the building’s contemporary design, complete with green terraces and advanced amenities. Funded and managed by the Komati Reddy Prateek Foundation, the project honors the late Komati Reddy Prateek, son of former Congress minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who passed away in a 2012 road accident. This initiative builds on the foundation’s legacy, which previously constructed two college buildings worth ₹3.5 crore (Times of India, 2012).

The new school, built on the site of the old Bottuguda Government High School, features digital classrooms, computer labs, and instruction in English and Urdu mediums. Catering to students from 1st to 12th standards, it will be staffed by a highly qualified faculty. This project marks the start of a three-year plan to modernize all government schools, colleges, and anganwadis in the constituency, as announced by Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. The official naming was formalized through Government Order (G.O. Ms. No. 27), issued on October 14, 2025, and approved by CM Revanth Reddy, reflecting the state’s commitment to educational equity.

The original Bottuguda school, a long-standing co-educational institution offering Telugu and English instruction (liko.in, 2011), struggled with outdated infrastructure. The new facility addresses these challenges, aligning with Telangana’s vision of "Telangana Rising 2047" and its goal to generate 16 lakh jobs by 2030 through skill-centric education (ey.com). Minister Komatireddy expressed gratitude to the CM and emphasized the school’s role as a model for future developments, stating, “This is a testament to our commitment to quality education for all.”

Local residents have welcomed the project, though some call for transparency on funding. As the state invests in its youth, this ₹8 crore school stands as a beacon of hope for Bottuguda, with its inauguration eagerly anticipated.
