Minor TV Dispute Ends in Murder, Man Stabbed by Wife
A seemingly trivial argument over television volume spiralled into a fatal domestic tragedy in Mangalagiri , leaving a young family shattered and the neighbourhood in disbelief.
The victim, Shaik Ahmed (27) , an air conditioning mechanic, was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife Kranthi (25) at their residence in a TIDCO housing colony on Thursday evening. The couple had been married for just eight months.
Argument Escalates
According to police sources, the confrontation began when Ahmed asked his wife to lower the volume of the television while he was at home. What started as a routine domestic exchange quickly escalated into a heated argument. In a sudden outburst, Kranthi allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and attacked him, inflicting multiple stab wounds.
Family members and neighbours, alerted by the commotion, rushed Ahmed to a nearby private hospital. He was later shifted to the Government General Hospital in Vijayawada as his condition worsened. Despite emergency medical intervention, doctors declared him dead.
No Prior Disputes Reported
Police sources and media reports indicate that there were no officially documented prior complaints or reported marital disputes between the couple. There is also no public information suggesting that Kranthi was undergoing treatment for any medical or psychological condition at the time of the incident.
Investigators are continuing to examine all angles, including the events leading up to the fatal confrontation.
Case Registered
Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, police registered a murder case and launched an investigation. Confirming the development, the Mangalagiri Sub-Divisional Police Officer stated that efforts are underway to take the accused into custody and conduct a detailed probe.
The tragic incident has left Ahmed’s parents devastated. Having celebrated his wedding less than a year ago, the family now mourns the sudden and violent loss of their son.
Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is in progress and appropriate legal action will follow based on the findings.
