Ministers Flag Off RTC Temporary Bus Stand for Medaram Jatara

The state government has completed all preparations for the Medaram Sammakka–Saralamma Jatara , regarded as Asia’s largest tribal festival . To facilitate smooth transportation for devotees, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has set up a massive temporary bus station spread across 50 acres at Medaram . The facility was inaugurated on Saturday by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Panchayati Raj Minister Seethakka .

The ministers inspected the bus station arrangements and reviewed security measures and passenger amenities with officials. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that around 4,000 special buses have been deployed to handle the heavy influx of devotees arriving from across the state . He added that additional buses would be arranged if the crowd increases further . RTC officials and the district administration are working in close coordination to ensure timely availability of buses and hassle-free travel for pilgrims.

The minister also announced that free bus travel for women devotees is being provided for the Medaram Jatara , calling it a major relief for women pilgrims. He noted that essential facilities such as drinking water , toilets , and rest shelters have been arranged at the temporary bus station .

After inaugurating the bus station, the ministers offered traditional gold ornaments to Goddess Sammakka and Saralamma and performed special prayers . They sought the blessings of the goddesses for peace and prosperity for the people of the state . Officials said that the extensive arrangements would ensure safe and comfortable travel for the lakhs of devotees expected to attend the historic festival .
