Minister Seethakka Opens Foster Care, Adoption Centres and Breastfeeding Kiosk in Kachiguda
Amid the constant rush of commuters at Kachiguda Railway Station, a quiet yet meaningful transformation unfolded as the Telangana government introduced initiatives focused on child welfare , maternal dignity , and family security . Leading the effort, Dansari Anasuya Seethakka inaugurated an Adoption Support Centre and a Foster Care Centre , along with a breastfeeding kiosk , marking a shift towards more inclusive public infrastructure that responds to real social needs.
At the core of these initiatives is the belief that true progress is reflected in children’s smiles . The Adoption Support Centre aims to offer children without parental care a new beginning by providing legal guidance , verified information, and counselling, while reinforcing transparency and discouraging illegal practices. Complementing this, the Foster Care system serves as a temporary family-based care model, ensuring children experience stability and emotional support even before finding permanent homes.
Beyond child protection, the government has also turned its focus to mothers, with the breastfeeding kiosk ensuring privacy in public spaces , particularly in crowded urban hubs. This move signals a broader effort to normalise maternal care within everyday environments. Additionally, recognising that development extends beyond physical needs, the government is working with Roshni Centre to provide mental health support , counselling, and therapy services, helping build emotional resilience among vulnerable children.
These initiatives are part of the state’s 99-day action plan , reflecting a time-bound push to strengthen welfare systems through policy, infrastructure, and awareness. With participation from leaders like Kaleru Venkatesh and Priyanka Ala, the effort underscores a broader vision—one where development is defined not just by growth, but by creating a supportive ecosystem where every child can live with safety, dignity, and hope.
