Minister Ponnam honors winners of 2025 Sub-Junior National Judo Championship

The 2025 Sub-Junior National Judo Championship, held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad, is progressing successfully, showcasing young talent from across India. The event saw participation from athletes representing 29 states, all competing with great enthusiasm.

State Minister Ponnam Prabhakar presented medals and awards to the outstanding performers. In the boys’ category, Delhi secured first place, Haryana came second, and Bihar took third. Similarly, in the girls’ category, Delhi led again, followed by Maharashtra in second place and Manipur in third. Telangana also participated in the championship, proudly representing the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponnam praised the athletes for their skill, training, and discipline, noting that the competitive spirit displayed at the sub-junior level is vital for the growth of judo in India. He expressed confidence that many talented players identified through this platform could go on to compete internationally.

The championship also featured a grand inaugural ceremony at LB Stadium. Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar attended as the chief guest to kick off the event. Minister Ponnam extended his congratulations to all winners, hoping their achievements inspire even greater success in the future. The championship, which began on November 16, is concluding today.
