Minister Ponguleti lays foundation for CC road construction in Edulapuram with Rs. 1.07 Cr investment

During his visit to Khammam district, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy inaugurated the construction of several internal concrete (CC) roads in Edulapuram Municipality, part of the state government’s accelerated development initiatives. The total investment for these projects is Rs. 1.07 crore.

The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by the District Collector, Police Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, local representatives, and leaders of the Congress party. Highlighting the government’s commitment to public welfare, the minister said special attention is being given to improving basic infrastructure in the town.

As part of the visit, Minister Ponguleti inaugurated road construction projects in several areas: CC roads worth Rs. 35 lakh in the Temple City area, Rs. 22 lakh in Chinnathanda, Rs. 25 lakh in Suryanagar, and another Rs. 25 lakh in the Class - 4 Employees Colony. He emphasized that these developments would ease transportation and reduce problems during the rainy season.

The minister also noted that the government has focused significantly on Edulapuram’s development over the past two years, spending around Rs. 70 crore to improve drinking water, roads, drainage, street lighting, and welfare for the underprivileged.

Under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, 560 beneficiaries in the municipality have already received homes. Minister Ponguleti announced that the scheme will continue in three more phases to ensure that every eligible underprivileged family receives a permanent house, with the second phase scheduled to begin in April.

Stressing that development goes hand-in-hand with addressing public issues, the minister assured that remaining challenges would be resolved gradually. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming Edulapuram into a model municipality.
