Rajahmundry: Andhra Pradesh Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu on Thursday addressed a Budget Outreach programme at the East Godavari Collectorate , outlining the state’s financial challenges and recovery path.

He said the state faced an inherent fiscal disadvantage after bifurcation, receiving a smaller share of resources despite a larger population, which led to a prolonged revenue deficit .

The Minister criticised the previous YSRCP government , alleging that excessive borrowing weakened the economy and left behind a strained financial system. He said the current administration is working to restore stability through focused policy measures.

Rama Naidu noted that Andhra Pradesh registered a 11.89 percent GSDP growth in 2024–25, indicating a gradual economic recovery .

He added that under the “Swarna Andhra Vision 2047,” led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the state is targeting a 15 percent growth rate , with emphasis on infrastructure and industrial development.

Despite financial pressures and debt obligations, the government is maintaining a balance between welfare and development, while continuing to implement key poll promises and ensure uninterrupted delivery of welfare schemes.
