A review meeting on paddy and cotton procurement and farmers’ issues in Bhongir district was held at the District Collectorate under the chairmanship of District Collector Hanumantha Rao. Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy participated in the meeting along with officials from the Agriculture, Marketing, Civil Supplies, Cooperative, and Revenue departments.

During the meeting, Minister Venkat Reddy instructed officials to ensure that farmers face no difficulties while selling their produce. He directed them to make sure that all procurement centers function smoothly and efficiently, with adequate availability of gunny bags, moisture-testing machines, and transportation facilities.

The Minister also reviewed the progress of cotton procurement and emphasized the need to speed up the process. He asked the district administration to closely monitor the distribution of immediate relief to farmers affected by recent rains.

“The government’s top priority is to guarantee fair prices for every grain and every bale of cotton,” the Minister said. He stressed that middlemen should have no role in the procurement process and that farmers must receive the Minimum Support Price (MSP) fixed by the government without delay.

Minister Venkat Reddy reiterated that the government is committed to purchasing every grain produced by farmers and ensuring that no farmer’s hard work goes to waste. He also directed officials to set up a special mechanism for promptly addressing farmers’ complaints.

He urged the district administration to work sincerely and efficiently to protect farmers’ interests and ensure that procurement operations reflect the government’s commitment to farmer welfare.
