Minister Kolusu Parthasarathi Unveils ₹6 Crore Smart City Plan for Nuzvid

State Minister for Housing and Information & Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathi on Wednesday announced a ₹6 crore infrastructure package aimed at transforming Nuzvid into a modern urban hub under the broader Smart City Mission . He said the initiative reflects the Andhra Pradesh Government’s commitment to strengthening civic amenities in fast-growing municipalities and ensuring planned urban development.

Backed by funding avenues such as the 15th Finance Commission , the initiative aims to accelerate long-pending infrastructure upgrades. The development blueprint focuses on road expansion , drainage modernization , installation of energy-efficient lighting , deployment of surveillance systems , and introduction of digital municipal services to enhance governance and service delivery.

Urban planners note that these structured interventions will not only improve mobility and public safety but also promote sustainable growth. Strengthening sanitation systems and solid waste management remains central to ensuring long-term civic stability.

Nuzvid’s economic profile, particularly its vibrant mango market sector , adds strategic weight to the development drive.
