Minister Kishan Reddy slams a decade of civic inaction in Jubilee Hills
Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Kishan Reddy, has sharply criticized both the BRS and Congress for failing to bring any meaningful development to Jubilee Hills over the past decade. He highlighted that issues like poor drainage, damaged roads, and inadequate drinking water continue to trouble residents, regardless of which party is in power.
Speaking on the state of Jubilee Hills, Kishan Reddy said, “For the last ten years, there has been no real development here. Even after Congress came to power, nothing has changed. The same drainage problems, water shortages, broken roads, and littered streets persist. People are still struggling for basic civic amenities.”
Kishan Reddy also pointed to the political influence of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in the constituency, suggesting that both BRS and Congress have relied heavily on the party to manage local political affairs. He claimed that major decisions, including the selection of Congress candidates, are influenced by AIMIM, and that both state and national-level leaders effectively “carry” the party on their shoulders to maintain political support in the area.
Indirectly criticizing former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao and the current Congress leadership, Kishan Reddy said that these parties prioritize their political alliances over citizen welfare. “Both BRS and Congress seem more focused on election politics and appeasing AIMIM than addressing the real development issues faced by Jubilee Hills residents,” he said.
Kishan Reddy also noted that Congress election promises - such as monthly financial support for women, scooters for female students, and gold for newlywed couples - have not been fulfilled, claiming these pledges were only made for campaigning purposes.
His remarks not only highlight the state government’s shortcomings in addressing Jubilee Hills’ long-standing problems but also bring attention to the complex political dynamics between Congress, BRS, and AIMIM in Telangana.
