Minister Kandula Durgesh pushes for tourism development with investor meet

Minister for Tourism Kandula Durgesh met with investors at the Secretariat to emphasize the government’s commitment to boosting tourism growth in the state. Speaking at the meeting, he assured investors that the government would provide all necessary support to fast-track approved tourism projects.

The meeting, held at the 5th Block of Velagapudi Secretariat, included the Special Chief Secretary of the Tourism Department, Ajay Jain, MD of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), CEO of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA), Amrapali, and other senior officials. The discussion followed up on the recent Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit, where many investors had expressed interest in state tourism projects. During the session, officials addressed queries and concerns raised by the investors.

Minister Durgesh highlighted that the government would assist investors with project information, guidance, and coordination with other departments to resolve any challenges. He urged investors to ensure financial readiness, collaborate with branding companies, and prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) aligned with land availability. In cases where government land is unavailable, he encouraged acquiring private land to move projects forward.

“The ultimate goal is tourism growth,” he said, stressing that once all documents are ready and cabinet approvals obtained, projects should progress quickly. Investors appreciated the proactive approach of the Tourism Department, noting that these interactions were useful for guidance and coordination.

Over 30 companies participated in the meeting, including Hanvika Biz Craft, Sun Castle, Nandi, Hayagreeva Hotels, Rajat International, Chaitanya Group, Travving Vacation Retreats, KSN Construction, Veeranjaney Resorts, Surya Namaskar, Jalavihar Resorts, Arak Power Pioneer, Sun International Institute, Om Shree Bhavana Sai, Brahmarabh, Elixir Enterprises, Seven Hospitality Group, NMR Film City, Tatvavanam Pvt Ltd, AB Sinka Hotels, PVR, KBR Hospitality & Resorts, Varun, Rapido, and GRT Hotels.
