In a strong push to revive the state’s spiritual and cultural heritage, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced a focused initiative to restore ancient temples across the region. Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy emphasized that the government is committed to bringing these historic sites back to their former glory.

On Thursday, Minister Reddy conducted a high-level review at the Secretariat on the utilization of Common Good Fund (CGF) resources. Officials were instructed to maintain strict transparency in fund allocation while ensuring that restoration work meets the highest standards.

The minister highlighted the urgent need to identify temples in a dilapidated condition and prioritize their renovation. Proposals from constituencies will be reviewed carefully, and additional funds will be sanctioned wherever required. Work will be supervised by expert architects to preserve traditional styles and craftsmanship.

Special attention will also be given to ensuring uninterrupted daily worship in smaller temples. The ‘Dhoopadeepa Naivedya’ scheme will be implemented more effectively, with a focus on the welfare of temple priests. Monitoring mechanisms are being strengthened to ensure smooth and timely release of funds.

With the upcoming Godavari Pushkarams in view, officials were tasked with preparing basic infrastructure and facilities for devotees, including improved ghats, water supply, sanitation, and security arrangements. Coordination among temples will be ensured so that pilgrims can perform their rituals without inconvenience.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Harijavaharlal , Commissioner Ramachandra Mohan , Chief Engineer Shekhar , chief architect Parameshwar , and several senior engineering officials.
