Minister Achennaidu Welcomes 200 YSRCP Families into TDP Ahead of Local Body Polls
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has received a boost in Tekkali constituency of Srikakulam district, with around 200 families from Gollaveedhi in Tekkali town reportedly leaving the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) to join the ruling party. The development comes ahead of the upcoming local body elections, as political parties intensify efforts to strengthen their grassroots support.
The joining programme was held at the camp office of Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu in Nimmada under the leadership of Nagalla Shankara Rao, Nagalla Mohini and others. Atchannaidu welcomed the new entrants by presenting them with yellow scarves, formally inducting them into the TDP.
Addressing party leaders and workers after the programme, Atchannaidu called for sustained efforts to strengthen the party and resolve public grievances. He urged cadres to take the development and welfare programmes implemented by the coalition government to the people and ensure that government initiatives reached the intended beneficiaries.
The minister stressed that public trust was the party’s greatest strength and asked leaders and workers to remain accessible to residents. He called for a proactive approach to addressing local issues and maintaining regular contact with people.
With local body elections approaching, Atchannaidu directed party leaders to strengthen the organisation from the village level. He also emphasised coordination among leaders and workers of the coalition partners, urging them to work together for the victory of the candidates selected to contest the elections.
Stressing that public service should take precedence over positions, the minister called on party members to uphold the confidence people had placed in them. The reported entry of 200 families is expected to strengthen the TDP’s organisational presence in Tekkali as political activity gathers momentum ahead of the local polls.
