Messi and Inter Miami are still searching for their first victory at their new home ground after being held to a 1-1 draw by New England Revolution in a tightly contested Major League Soccer clash on Saturday night.

Germán Berterame struck in the 76th minute to rescue a point for Inter Miami after former MLS MVP Carles Gil had given New England the lead in the 56th minute.

The result means Inter Miami remain winless at their new stadium, with 0 wins in 3 home matches , even as their away form continues to impress with 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat this season.

Despite the home frustration, the Herons extended their unbeaten run to nine MLS matches , and are now without defeat in 11 games across all competitions .

New England took the lead after a long throw-in caused confusion in the Miami defence. Dor Turgeman left the ball in a dangerous area and Gil reacted quickly, producing a calm finish to make it 1-0 .

Inter Miami thought they had equalised earlier through Tadeo Allende, but the goal was ruled out for offside .

The equaliser finally arrived after sustained pressure. Luis Suárez forced a close-range save, and the rebound fell to Berterame, who finished clinically to make it 1-1 .

Lionel Messi also had his chances but could not convert. One of his best opportunities came in the first half when he broke into space inside the box but sent his shot wide under pressure . He also tested goalkeeper Matt Turner from a corner and a close-range effort, both comfortably saved.

Inter Miami now turn their attention to their remaining fixtures before the league break, with matches against Orlando, Toronto, Cincinnati, Portland and Philadelphia still ahead.
