Meghalaya youths to get SAP skills via new MoU

In a significant step toward empowering local youth for the digital economy, the Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with software solutions company Sirobilt. The partnership will launch a six-month training programme focused on SAP S/4HANA, an AI-driven enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, officials said.

The initiative aims to equip Meghalaya’s young workforce with specialised skills that are highly sought after in industries leveraging digital technologies. The training programme will prepare participants to handle complex SAP implementation projects, making them proficient professionals ready to contribute to business process optimisation across sectors, according to senior MSSDS officials.

SAP S/4HANA, the software at the core of this programme, represents the next generation of intelligent ERP suites developed by SAP. It is built on the advanced in-memory database, SAP HANA, and integrates artificial intelligence, machine learning, and real-time analytics. This combination enables organisations to streamline operations, make informed decisions quickly, and respond effectively to changing market conditions.

Officials emphasised that this partnership reflects Meghalaya’s commitment to developing a workforce ready for the future of work. By providing training on cutting-edge platforms like SAP S/4HANA, the state is ensuring that its youth can compete for opportunities not only within Meghalaya but also in national and global markets.

“This initiative will open doors for our young people to enter high-demand technology roles, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements,” an MSSDS official said.
