Megan Thee Stallion wins defamation lawsuit against Milagro Gramz

Megan Thee Stallion has secured a major legal win after a Florida jury ruled that blogger Milagro Cooper, known online as Milagro Gramz, harassed and defamed her following the 2020 shooting involving singer Tory Lanez. The verdict, reported by Variety, confirmed that Cooper’s online commentary and actions caused serious reputational and emotional harm to the rapper.

The jury initially awarded Megan USD 75,000 in damages, later revised to USD 59,000 by US District Court Judge Cecilia M Altonaga. Megan filed the lawsuit in October 2024, accusing Cooper of aligning herself with Lanez and using her platform to spread false narratives suggesting Megan had lied about the shooting. She claimed Cooper repeatedly questioned her credibility, implied she fabricated the incident, and encouraged followers to believe misleading content, including a fabricated sexually explicit deepfake video that Cooper allegedly knew was fake.

Megan testified that the sustained online harassment left her feeling exhausted and defeated, explaining that even though she knew the video was not real, watching the public react to it was emotionally devastating. She said it was humiliating to see people believe a manufactured clip created solely to damage her reputation.

Beyond the legal battle, Megan continues to remain a powerful force in music. She rose to fame with hits like Big Ole Freak, Savage, WAP, and Body, earning global recognition for her confident style and sharp lyricism. In recent years, she has also explored a more personal and emotional side of her artistry. Her 2025 single Lover Girl showcased a softer sound and was widely associated with her relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson. The pair went public earlier this year, with Megan describing him as one of the kindest people she has met and crediting the relationship for inspiring a more romantic phase in her music.

Earlier this year, Megan also secured a five-year restraining order against Lanez, telling the court that he continued to harass her from prison. She expressed concern about what might happen once he is released, saying she still fears for her safety after surviving the 2020 shooting.

Despite the turmoil, Megan has continued to grow personally and professionally, strengthening her public image, expanding her music catalogue, and finding stability in her relationship with Thompson, all while standing firm against online abuse and misinformation.
