YSRCP MLC Ramesh Yadav has alleged large-scale corruption and irregularities in Andhra Pradesh’s Mega DSC recruitment process, claiming that government posts were allegedly sold for hefty sums and demanding a detailed discussion on the issue in the Legislative Council.

Speaking to the media at the Assembly, Yadav accused the coalition government of violating established DSC recruitment rules and guidelines. He alleged that individual posts were being sold for more than ₹20 lakh, raising serious questions over the transparency of the recruitment process.

Yadav said the YSRCP would press for sufficient time in the Legislative Council to discuss the allegations. He maintained that the issue involved the interests of thousands of job aspirants and required scrutiny in the legislature.

“We will fight on behalf of the people and become the voice of those who have no voice,” Yadav said, reiterating his party’s demand for a detailed debate on the Mega DSC recruitment process.

Ramesh Yadav also criticised the government over the issue of Backward Class (BC) reservations, referring to remarks made by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the Assembly.

He claimed that the previous YSRCP government had issued an order providing 33% reservations for BCs during its 2019-24 tenure. However, he alleged that some TDP leaders challenged the decision in court.

Yadav also highlighted the political representation given to BC communities under former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He claimed that Jagan ensured more than 50% representation for BCs within the party and converted some general-category positions into BC seats.

According to Yadav, several BC leaders were appointed as MLAs, MLCs and Rajya Sabha members during the previous government.

Ramesh Yadav alleged that the current government was using BCs politically while neglecting their welfare schemes. He pointed out that the YSRCP government had appointed two BC leaders as Deputy Chief Ministers between 2019 and 2024.

“If the government is genuinely committed to BC welfare, it should appoint at least one BC leader as Deputy Chief Minister,” Yadav said, challenging the government to debate the issue. He said political representation should be backed by concrete measures for BC welfare and development.
